STEAM Camp 2024
Join us to explore a different aspect of STEAM each day through a variety of activities!
Monday - Science: Explorations of the states of matter and chemical reactions.
Tuesday - Technology: Explore the world of electronics, robotics and coding.
Wednesday - Engineering: Use the engineering design process to design, build and test solutions to challenges.
Thursday - Art: Explore the arts through patterns and a variety of media.
Friday - Math: Activities that showcase measurement, patterns, and geometry.
Mid-Week Update for STEAM Camp 2024
We have explored Science by taking a look at matter and chemistry through chemical reactions. Students worked to identify whether the substance we created was a mixture or if a chemical reaction had occurred that couldn't be undone.
We explored Technology learning about polarity, simple circuits, and then applying our learning by building battle bots. We also experimented with 2 different robots that used sensors to code.
We dove into Engineering. We explored the physics of flight. Campers took measurements of flight distances and hang time. They applied their observations from test flights and background knowledge to design and build two different types of rockets. Rocket launches were a lot of fun to watch and see how the different design choices affected the flight paths.
We will explore the Arts on Thursday.
We will explore Mathematics and celebrate STEAM on Friday.

2023 Camp Week at a Glance
Monday - Get to know Sir Isaac Newton, his Laws of Motion and the principles of engineering design. Conduct experiments with Newton Cars.
Tuesday - Explore Newton's 2nd Law in greater depth, the physics of flight, and engineering design through construction and launching of stomp rockets.
Wednesday - Further exploration of the Laws of Motion and engineering design through construction and testing of balloon cars.
Thursday - Timed trials with balloon cars. Exploration of potential and kinetic energy through construction of marble runs and mazes.
Friday - Energy and the Laws of motion through paper roller coasters and other choice activities.
